Norwegian-Minnesotan Sesquicentennial Banquet

The banquet will be preceded by a cash bar from 5 -6 pm.

Dinner will be served at 6 pm.  At approximately 7:00 the evening program will begin.

Bunad Parade Bunads are the traditional costumes of Norway, and each area has its own unique style. We encourage both men and women to wear their Norwegian finery to the banquet. Each participant will be asked to fill out a card with information about the part of Norway the bunad represents, when it was made and by whom, special jewelry and accessories, etc. As each person models his/her bunad, the master of ceremonies will describe it to the audience.  Call it Project Runway, Bunad edition!

Recognition of St. Olav Medal winners:  Over the past sixty years, less than 100 "ordinary Minnesotans" have been honored by the King of Norway for their extraordinary dedication to the relationship between Norwegian-Americans and Norway. We'll take a few minutes to remember and honor their efforts to keep our connection to our ethnic heritage alive.

Leroy Larson and the Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble will provide a program of good humor and great music to bring our Sesquicentennial Celebration to a close.
