Celebrating Minnesota's Sesquicentennial

Would your organization like to participate in the project?

The deadline has passed for organizations who would like to participate in the project by reviewing Statehood Pioneer plaque applications and allowing their members to benefit from a $10 reduction in primary application fees.  There are still opportunities for organizations that would like to take part in this Sesquicentennial project.

-Print an article in a newsletter that can be included in our heritage book.  The stories and articles should focus on Norwegian-Minnesotan settlements or individual pioneers in the 1850's. Your organization will receive a by-line for any newsletter articles that are reprinted in our Heritage Book. 

- Print an article about the project in your newsletter.  Graphics and text found on this website can be used, or we'll be happy to provide specific information on request. Send a copy of your newsletter to NSPP and your organization will be listed under the heading "Publicity provided by" in the Celebration program and the Heritage Book.

- Make our brochures available at your meetings or in your building.  Send us an email and we'll pop some in the mail, or print  your own.  Choose between the NSPP project brochure and an October Celebration brochure.

- Provide a demonstration or display for the October Celebration.  Pictures, artifacts, rosemaling, lefse making - we're open to almost any Norwegian or Sesquicentennial-related presentation. A photograph of your display/demonstration will be included in our Heritage book, and your organization will be listed in the program and the Heritage Book as under the heading "Displays and Demonstrations."

- Organize a group to attend the Celebration. With gas prices such a big issue, putting together a group and arriving by car pool, van, or bus, could be a great way to make the trip more economical - and fun is always more fun when its shared!
